Hi, I recently read that the pretty glass type fuel filters, like the one that the PO of my rig installed, are junk and potentially dangerous. What should I change to?? In a previous post I also mentioned that I had a vapor lock problem when temps were hot. Return line from the filter??? Opinions on the best aftermarket set-up including brands??? Thanks

Not sure if you have a V8 or not, but I use a regular fuel filter for a later model CJ/Jtruck with a V8 that has a return line. I haven't yet had any vapor lock problems. The filter itself is all metal.

    Similar to these from Rockauto.

I would also recommend the later factory style metal can with the return line oriented to the top. That always works unless you have the fuel lines run to close to the exhaust somewhere.

Ok, so I'm gonna change over to a wix can style fuel filter with the vapor line on top. One question though.....do I have to bring the return line all the way back to the tank, or can I plumb it into the PVC line that routes to the back of the carb?
I don't have a charcoal can. My tank vent has a roll-over valve and a small charcoal breather vented to atmosphere.
    Thanks

If no return line, just use the can filter with one line in and one line out.
