Has anyone installed wide axles (like Waggy axles) on a CJ5?

If so, pics please and the equipment you used.

Jr and I found two complete Waggys for sale as a pair, one w/out a motor & I think the other has a 360 in it (going to see this weekend) so he is thinking outside the box and he is liking the wide axles (to me it would be safer on the road in my mind) but I think the Waggy is driver side drop and not sure what to do about that since he has a 5.

Any help would be appreciated so I can pass it on to him, plus I will/we will do the work.

    Thanks,
    Jim

been done many, many, many times. I have full size jeep axles under ,my frame. You need to outboard the front axles or cut them down. Do a google image search to see what you want the final jeep to look at.

Waggy have both side diffential drop depending on the year.

Also there another sollution, going to coil spring is almost the same job but will improve the suspension a lot.
I just make a plate with coil bucket weld to it, and i bolt it to engine support bolt and i sleeve the brake line hole and i put 3/4" bolt throught it.

Not exactly a CJ but it is a Willy's. The spring anchors are outboarded approx. 1" on each side, frame width is approx 30" outside to outside. The axle is a D44 out of a '79 Wagoneer Chief with passenger side drop and the cast spring perch in the pumpkin. On the CJ frame that I am building the front springs will be outboarded also (for the same reasons) but this time I have the room to run my braces at a 45* outward to help spread the weight out.

Looks good, thanks. The Waggy's were sold but now for sale again. Next week we will go look at them but first I am going to check the cyl on his 304 before we do a transplant.

    Thanks,
    Jim
