I'm putting my rear 44 back together this afternoon. I've searched the forum and found just about everything I need as far as procedure. What I can't seem to find is the end play setting for a Powerlok equipped 44. I have found the setting for an open diff., .006", but no reference for the Powerlok other than "consult your fsm" which I don't have. Is it the same?

Also, I need the hub nut torque.

If anybody can supply this info, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks!

    John,
End play is the same for Powr-Lok or open differential.
Hub nut torque I'm not sure from memory. What I remember is going to 150 ft-lbs (high as my torque wrench went) and then go to the next line up of the castle nut to the cotter pin hole. Don't try for final torque until you get the wheel bolted on and on the ground.
Use some anti-seize on the threads. Keep the taper dry and clean first, both axle and inside bore of the hub. You know the correct right orientation of the special key right? Get the hub slid on first, line up the key way, then slide in the key to avoid splitting your hub.
