The official suppliers to Jeep were Ramsey and Warn. You could get Ramsey PTO-type or Ramsey electric, or a Warn electric. The special equipment catalog shows the 8074, 8274 and 9854 for Warn models. These all came with elaborate bumper kits that extended the front bumper some, sometimes a lot. I have one of these extended bumpers that came with my Jeep - I'll see if I can get a picture later.

You may have been able to order the winches as factory equipment, delivered installed on the Jeep, but I don't think that happened very often if at all. Putting this kind of equipment on the Jeep before shipment was risky (theft), and the factory generally did a poor job on installations like this.

IME they were always dealer installed, from a box that was the same as what you would get direct from Ramsey or Warn, except for the "Jeep approved special equipment" logo on the side. You could order this equipment through the Jeep parts network, and it would show up with your parts order. It was an expensive add-on, and unless the Jeep were being special ordered for a specific customer, having the winch already in place limited the range of customers the Jeep might appeal to. So this and other expensive special equipment were typically added at point of sale, and mixed in to the financed cost.
