Oil Pump Woes

    I don't think it's that, I shot some air into the sender hole & i could hear bubbles blowing into the oil inside the pan.

    This weekend I'm going to verify I can't suck oil out of the pickup port on the block then I'll try the vaseline trick with the pump.

    OK, I did the suck thing & there were no air leaks in the pickup side of the circuit. I tore the pump down & checked the clearances- about 6-7 thou between the rotors , 8 thou or so between to outer rotor & case. Not sure what a fresh pump would be but those are within spec. There is a marginal difference on the heights between to rotors, about 2 thou, that's borderline out of spec but I packed it full of vaseline & put it back together anyhow.

    It's now pumping oil :)

    I'll leave it as is until it's running & see what kind of pressure I get & whether or not my improvised gaskets hold. If there's any problems with it then I'll just get a new one.
