I am working on a restomod of my early 70 cj5. It has the underseat fuel tank which I am going to keep but I also want to add a factory style rear tank. I think I know the answer to this question but wanted to put it out there so I don't make a mistake. In order to add the rear tank I need to take out the v-brace on the back of my frame correct? I assume it was there to brace the pto style hitch on the crossmember or will I be making the rear section weaker. is there other bracing I need to add in it's place?
    Thanks for the info!

It meets where the pintle hook or factory drawbar (for towing or PTO attachments) attaches. You can just chop the V section out. Very common to do.
