So after swapping out winches and getting rid of one leak, I couldn't help but eliminate a couple of others that'd been bothering me.
Knocked off my valve cover, dropped oil pan, cleaned 'em up and painted. Replaced RMS, oil pan and valve cover gasket, buttoned her up, fired off, bone dry. Off to the park, dismount and check...bone dry.
Drover her to work next day, still dry. After work to the park with the dog...the hated ooze.
Wiped it up and took a nut driver to the valve cover bolts. They were loose, so I just hand tightened...I'll check oil pan bolts tonight.
Should I use a pliable locktite on the bolt threads so they don't loosen?

I have had good luck with just the valve cover bolts that I found at autozone. They have a wider flanged head with locking serations. Make sure that you tap the area around the holes back flat and torque the bolts lightly to spec.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll give Auto zone a try.

Did you straighten the valve cover? They are often distorted by over-tightening.

Just a heads up - the 258 valve covers leak a little, even when brand new. Typically not enough to drip, but enough to make the engine exterior oily.

I did straighten her up. The seep is just enough to be annoying.

I try and use a stud whenever I can on the valve covers. That usually helps a lot.
