I was just snooping around underneath and i know exactly what you mean about all the zerks. I was in shock and its a OCD of mine to always grease zerks so they are definatly going to be lubed up all the time. Thanks for the links for the user books, im going to order it for sure tonight. And just wondering, why to try to avoid omix ada? Cheap china stuff or just weak and overpriced?

I promise i wont take it apart!! Only things coming off of her is the bad steering components and all the stupid diamond plating the PO put on before me. And getting all the stock stuff running and working well is exactly what i am going to do. Just beat her up and have fun thats the plan haha.

i checked already it peels back from the crap glue the guy used....the PO just put it on for show, so itll all come off. Although on the dash right under the windsheild, i took a strip of plating off and there are two big rust holes. Ill probably just cut em out and weld sheet metal on place. Doesnt gotta look good just has to work.

17 years old.....hmmmm...with a Jeep to boot (very cool)...Jeeps are not cheap...they are in the same league as a horse or a boat or a racecar....they dont really do anything and they cost lots of money...be forewarned on that...

Oh yeah put Walcks 4WD on your phone...he has everything you will need to fix this little truck....

    Welcome to the insanity.....

Was in your exact shoes 37 years ago with my first Jeep - Wagon - it was my daily driver. No internet or earlycj5.net around and had to find some local mentors to guide me. Your mentors are here and willing to help. An older local experienced mechanic that knows Jeeps can be a big help. Found a few that took pity on me and they can show you things first hand. Oh and if you haven't heard it, a Factory Service Manual is a necessity - not an option (I found an original at a book sale for my current CJ5). Search first and ask questions this is the friendliest site you will find.

    Best wishes - PICTURES!!!!
