Does anyone know what the torque specs are for the u-joint strap for my front drive shaft might be? Should I use lock-washers or the flat washers that are already on there? I am replacing the pinion nut on my front diff which as I understand it needs to be torqued to 200-220 ft lbs (I will also be using a threadlocker) and I don't need to worry about getting it back to its exact original alignment because my Dana 30 does not have a crush sleeve, but has shims and the pre-load is already set and won't be disturbed by backing off the pinion nut (wish I fully understood what I just wrote and would appreciate confirmation that it is correct . . . although I would certainly be grateful for an explanation as well). Thanks in advance.

I just get an open end wrench and torque evenly until I can't get it anymore.

I would use lockwashers and threadlocker, but that's just me.

13 to 18 lbs. feet. I use lock washers as well and I don't use thread-locker and have not had any issues.

Oh and make sure you inspect them after a couple drives and make sure they're tight.

Mine keep backing off and must need replacing...

Thanks. Btw, can anyone confirm the second part of my post concerning the pinion nut?
