This morning I started the Jeep with no issues and let it run for 15 minutes. When I got ready to leave, I put it in reverse, and the engine cut off. After that, I was unable to restart it (it always starts super-fast when warm), and there was a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust while running the starter. Any ideas?

2x Check choke operation and if that's ok, could be stuck needle in carb. The 2G on my :v6: liked to do that and usually a tap with a plastic hammer freed it (a Holley cured itR)).

Turns out it was easier. In spite of our meticulous wiring, the wire hitting the positive side of the ballast resistor had a loose crimp, so I got no voltage to the wire. Must have come loose right as I shifted, even though I didn't move. Weird.

    But now it starts! :)
