Before tomorrow I have finally fixed the doors. Bottom hinge (body part) were lacking, so I used normal doors hinges (from very old house doors). I'll order 2 new ones at the exact size at my neighbour, which is a tractor/agricultural equipment repair station. They are busy this week, so it will be later. Here it is, at the jonction with the railway.

My house is 3 rd south on D15 road, west. All around are fields, our corn belt.
The railway is mainly for the grain silos.

I succeeed in puting doors in position, it is so nice to see this Jeep how it was when it came to France in 1971, to work in Alps in snow business.
In fact, as a good member of the forum saw it, it is exactly as the old photo below. There was a metal support at the rear to hold the spare tyre. I don't feel able to put the tyre on the roof, it is too high.

Here is a photo of the passenger door, it works well. Of course I have to paint the rest of the hard-top, but is is freezing so not good for painting.

I have a problem, there is a cracked window at the rear, I don't know what to do, put a plastic part with glue but it is too cold for glue. It resists since many years so I'll wait for better temperature to repair if I find the good solution.

Difficult to the the crack, but it is a small line.

I have also fixed the driver door, and the mirrors. TO put the doors in postion, I have installed a ladder on the rook so I can hold the door up, because only one hinge working, and I fix the 2nd hinge with this help.

Tomorrow, I'll make some historical photos (I hope so) for your information.

I agree, the roof is not a good place for a spare tire as it's difficult to reach. As far as the cracked glass, it's a flat piece and a glass shop or auto glass place should be able to cut a new piece to fit. This would be my approach. Most plastics will scratch easily and "fog" over time. Nice looking JEEP.
