Just ordered the Dana 18 dual stick kit TC05 from Paul at http://www.r-p4wd.com/
On removing the transfer case and installing the kit, my first question is about the wire around the transmission output shaft. I read it somewhere, but can't seem to find it again. My next is about the "pill" in the transfer case. Is it inside the case, or connected to the shifters?
I tore one down on my old jeep pick-up, but that was 40 years ago, and I forgot!!

you will need fsm .it will tell you how to tear down front output housing - the pill you are talking about is in a bored hole in between shifter fork shafts . one shaft has to be removed to drop it out

The wire on the output of the transmission is to keep the output shaft from sliding back and allowing the pilot bearings between the input and output from falling into the transmission. The transfer case must come apart to removematmleast one shift rail to remove the interlock which is between the shift rails.
