Hopefully I can get started on this in the next month, I'm looking for some insight on some of the parts I have acquired over the years. I have this 67 225(according to the casting #)that was rebuilt before I got it 10 yrs ago. I will open it up to see what has been done to it.

As you can see it has an Offenhauser 360 Dualport on it. I also have another 360 Offenhauser that doesn't say Dualport and an Edelbrock Performer to choose from.

The jeep is a driver and does see some trail riding but nothing to wild, I have my flatty for that stuff. I'm hoping to make the T-18/Dana 20 I have work behind it ,it does have a centered 44 in it also. I'm planning to leave the 4.10 gears in it and putting some 32's or 33's on it. I also haven't figured out what to run for a carb but I do like the Motorcraft 2V stuff.

You'll need to check, but all the Edelbrook intakes I know of are for the 231 and won't work on the 225s. I have 2 on motors on stands in the shop.

I had thought that was true but I wasn't sure. I do have a set of 231 heads on the shelf from the mid 70's but don't know if they swap or if I want to. They would have hardened seats though.

Also need to find out if this dist will work for me, came out of a 231 just don't know the year and model.

Run the intake that is on the engine, if the carb you want will bolt up. I suggest Eldebrock BTW. The independant ports in that manifold, under the carb will create a good signal and work better at lower rpms, the runners in all 3 are almost identical.

Gotta agree with the post above, a lot of the time less is more when looking for bottom torque. Smaller individual runners, and no plenum is good for this.

Look for a carb in the 450 CFM range, vacuum secondary's.

Just look at the pickups on the distro - even - you need to swap it out and its in the tech section - odd - it's and OF HEI.

Edelbrook intakes I know of are for the 231 and won't work on the 225s. i have three 225 with the elderbrocks with 500cfm 4v carbs and they work just fine if you use the 225 gaskets

Huh? You say the edelbrock you know of won't work with the 225 but then say you have one on your 225?

I think the quote from me got hosed. I am the one that does not think the Edelbrock does not work (based on the ones and setups I have seen).

I got started, 2.5/T4/300 is out and now starting to put stuff together. I do have a question, has anyone had luck using the stock 225 bellhousing, redrilling, taping then bolting it to a Ford T18 without using an adapter plate?

I mated a t18 ford to the back of a dauntless bell housing

The two top holes in the trans needed hogged out some and two new holes were needed in the bellhousing

Iirc novak had some good info as well

One more thing to note on that topic

R&P in Oregon used to sell t18 ford cases that would mate directly to the Buick bell

T18 will bolt to the Dauntless bell housing easily by drilling. You will need a turned-down input bearing retainer.

I'm having trouble finding my clutch fork for this project. Can anyone tell me what else will work? Standard GM?
