Will these 2 clear each other? I've looked at all the photos and it doesn't look like there is enough room for both. It also looks like the winch wouldn't be supported on that side because the steering box is in the way. Any photos?

    thanks.

Which PTO winch, there is one with a shorter spool on it that does fit.

I ran a Koenig Kingwinch with the Saginaw box. I had to move the winch over a little to get it to clear.

A KOING M100 will fit with a standard saginaw box, tight but it works fine. I believe my PTO adapter was for the wagons and trucks, not the CJ. It fit between the frame, but not by much on my 66 CJ5.

I almost forgot that I did have a custom radiator Xmember due to tearing the old one apart.

Maybe that will give you a couple ideas. If your working with a wider winch, all bets are off.

Herm has a kit where you use a ford reverse rotation power box and mount it on the frame beside the engine. I allready have the pto winch and was wanting power steering but I have a for I-6 motor so the box will not fit beside the motor. I'm trying to figure out what I can do next on my project!! Thanks all. It is a Koenig winch. I've priced Herm and AA and was thinking about checking out local junk yards, in research mode.

Flexiheep, is the plate your winch is sitting on notched arround the steering box?

    thanks again.

Actually the with way we plan on using Jeep, a steering up grade would be better used than the winch. I could sell the winch to help fund the project...It's so damn cool though...hmmm.

Yes, I notched the mounting plate to fit around the steering box. I don't have any good pictures of it though and the Jeep is with a new owner now....
