Don't mean to hijack but are the aftermarket heaters better than the stock units.

    From the Forum Rules:

    19. If you have to apologize (or say 'I don't mean to hijack') for posting something DON'T (post it)! Does not apply in OT.

You are more than welcome and encouraged to start another thread:beer:

Typically the Summit style heaters are considered an upgrade to the Early CJ heaters which are sometimes referred to as "placebo heaters". Some consider them an upgrade to the Intermediate heater as well (myself included).

My heater worked ok at lower around town speeds like 25mph, If its 20 outside it was 65-70 inside. At higher speeds (45+) it just cant keep up with the draftiness of the top and the heat loss through the top, and the temp drops to 45-50 inside.

cut the holes for the hoses, mount to the firewall, run a hose to the defroster and the other as you wish... Last thing is mount the switch and connect wires. Not a huge project. Keeps me warm and windshield defrosted. 3 speeds, low med high. It is basically an on off thing. A great upgrade..
