I am a newbie to the Jeep world...I have purchased a 59 CJ5. It has a 4 speed option. This is a T98 I believe ??? The shifter pin that keeps the shifter from spinning was sheared....Are these pins available anywhere or is there a substitute to use??? wood-ruff key ??? How long should it be ?

Might have a new one or two around, I'll have to have a look. The original part number is 912374. Not that it helps a lot but I looked it up so figured I might as well post it for you :). Did a quick google search and apparently they used to be available at Windrockoffroad.com, unfortunately that site doesn't seem to exist anymore.
South Texas AMC was showing that part number, I couldn't find it though.

I made one for my T18 (same shifter) out of an appropriate sized drill bit. Just cut it to the right length.

Drill rod works good. You want something fairly hard in there. An old needle bearing the right diameter ground down works good too. R&P usually stocks those as I'm sure Partsmike and others would. Forgot to mention, the T-98 and T-18 pins are the same....

Seems strange that a drill bit cuts so easily with a hacksaw...:)
