I'm sure its a limited slip at best... I was really hoping it would be the stock carrier so I could just slip in an aussie locker... oh well, i'm sure I'll be changing the gears out so more research....

My guess is you are looking at a Trac-Loc which I think would be optional for your year of Jeep.
An identifying feature of a Powr-Loc is the V ramp for each of the cross shafts, and the case is formed in two halves that are bolted together. I don't see a part line for the case halves in your picture.

I sure dont think it would be worth trying to rebuild the unit... they probably didnt work that great when they were new! I'm still a ways away from the axle swap so I have time to collect parts for it.
thanks for all the detective work guys.....

not much new to report on the build... I've just been collecting all the tools I'm going to need for the t18 rebuild. should have all I need in the next few weeks.
Anyone who has done the ford t18 rebuild and installed the adapter to dana 20 feel free to give me any pointers. Any detailed rebuild manuals?
thanks for any help you can send my way. :driving:

Looking over the gearbox before I start the rebuild.... the first gear and reverse have about 15% wear at the contact point.... still plenty of gear left... ok to leave it as is or should I replace the gears?

It dont look that bad to me. I am bad about patients so I would prob slap her in there and call it good....long as there are not broken or chipped teeth that is.
