So the jeep got paint today. It's been 2 months of on and off prep, and plenty of time spent working with Bondo. Boy I'm glad to see this thing in color.

Now I need another weekend to put it back together, and she's back on the road till next winter.

Yeah, painted it myself. Used dupont paint, infiniti/nissan paint code JOC. Got the idea for the color from 2manytoys (user on here). He used Rustoleum army green, and this matches almost perfect to that color. I just couldn't bring myself to rattle can the thing after I spent a great deal of time on prep work. By no means is the body perfect, because I knew if I made it that way I wouldn't wheel it. I still plan on it getting scratched, that's why I have left over paint

I'm in the phase of doing the body work. Need to figure out what kind of paint to use myself. I hope I can get mine to look as good.

B-e-a-u-tiful. Where exactly did you paint it (garage/outside)? I am going to try the same eventually and was wondering how to prep my garage to be able to vent the fumes and oversparay.
    thanks

I painted it outside. Did get a small bit of trash in the clear coat, but I put on a pretty heavy coat of clear so I can buff out the small bits of trash. I'm also gonna be doing a vinyl sticker(star) on the hood, so that will cover a lot of it as the hood was the biggest place that caught trash.

Yeah, I gotta give you props. I totally stole the original idea for my jeep from the pics of yours. I love the look your jeep has. It has the retro army green feel, but the modern look with teh black accents. I used that as well. I went with the yellowish green base coat, then I went with black accents all the way around. I already had black wheels so they matched easily. I had a friend of mine who works in graphic design order me a flat black star that's about 3'x3' to go on the hood. I'm excited to get the jeep completely reassembled this weekend. It all depends on if the glass guys that service my dealership will install my windshield glass for me tomorrow :?

SOOOO.....finally after fighting the windshield glass in, rebuilding the carb as the power valve got screwed up when the engine backfired, and battling a faulty hazard switch, I put the jeep back on the road today. I took some pics out in the sun.

I do have a question about the steering, as I need to go through it, it has about 30deg of free play in it. How hard is it to adjust the manual steering box? I know it needs tie rods, but would like some insight on the manual steering box adjustment. Enjoy the pics, I got to take her for a ride today.

Do tie rods first BEFORE messing with the steering box.
Its the same principal as setting your point dwell BEFORE you set the timing.
