my '69 has top-mount wipers. which is more likely?

    1) some '69s got the very last of the top-mount wiper windshield frames
    2) someone switched out the original one (for whatever reason) and put an older frame on

it's a canadian jeep if that makes a difference.

Patrick's post asked specifically about the bottom mounted wiper's.

I would say being a Canadian Jeep in your case very well could have made a difference or someone swapped it out. Most '69's had bottom wiper's, many '68's had them as well. I've seen some '67's as well with the flat top glass and bottom mount wiper's but can't confirm they were factory that way.

Isn't Patricks jeep a Canadian model also?
Yea all of them I've seen were 2 speed unless the motor quit working right. I replaced mine years ago cause the low speed didn't work anymore only to get a used motor that won't park.
To lazy to tear it apart and fix it.

Yes, mine is Canadian. But it's a '67, flat glass, upper wipers, single speed.

    For now.

They are actually easy to fix. Commonly the carbon brushes for park stick in the holder's though. I've found that's the hardest thing to fix. To pull them out without them crumbling. The holder is commonly distorted/melted from heat which makes them hard to fix. Have a couple that can't be fixed without parts because of it. The original motors are much better than the replacements though if you can repair them. Frequently they just need some cleaning, lubing with white lithium grease and light scuffing of contacts to get them working right. Takes about an hour to 2 hours to repair.

Yep, my passenger motor didn't park when I bought the Jeep. I took both of them apart, cleaned, re-lubed, and put them back together. Both park now.

The park brush is carbon, heck thats easy to fix. I have about 3-4lbs of graphite electrodes in the garage from when we had a shop. I can grind new ones and put them back in if they crumble.

Wipers that park? That I can remember, mine (71) never did park:(
Maybe mine were broken from the start, are you guys sure that they came back then with parking motors?
Maybe I might have to take mine apart to see what's going on. And to think for 38 years I have been parking them with the panel switch!!!

PS not meaning to hijack the thread, this just really caught me by surprise

The wipers on the '69 don't park. I'll have to fix that when I swap the frames.

I checked in my FSM and sure enough it's suppose to have a park. And to think all these years I have been parking it by hand:mad:
To the best of my memory, I can not ever remember it parking. I think it must have been bad from the factory.
Well I know what my project will be over Turkey day:)
