Unclebill, I run all my fullfloat hubs without the seal and let the gear oil mix with the bearing grease. My hubs and bearings run cooler and last longer. Only issue is it's much messier during servicing. No different than full float 3/4 and larger rear truck axles. They get packed with grease then the oil lubes the bearings.

I got the same problem. Jeep sat all summer and the rim turn ugly. I cleaned it last week and check my Warn hub bolts. Two were missing, another one is just spinning in place and the rest were all lose. New gasket and bolt repair time. These bolts are very easy to snap. Is it designed that way to prevent stripping the threads in the aluminum? Should I put in a better quality bolts? Anyone have a torque spec for these bolts?

The new website is fantastic! Thank you Sparky and any others who lent a hand!

I have found grade 8 studs to be the best cure for keeping the hubs fastened happily... ARP makes some nice Stainless ones too ;)

I put studs in my CJ-6 hubs, sourced from McMaster-Carr. Secured with Locktite and capped with nylock nuts. Supposedly that's a common upgrade.
