I seem to be having a float problem. My engine is a little hard to start when warm. If I pump the gas once it usually starts but idles rough and I see black smoke from the exhaust for a little while. Other than that it runs fine.
First, does this sound like a float problem?
Second, I have noticed that 2G carbs are available with three different style floats, a metal one, a square foam one and trianular tapered foam one. I have the latter.
Do these floats alladjust the same? If not which one is the correct one for carb #7027082 and what is the correct adjustment?
    Any help here is appreciated.
This is what my current float looks like.

have you figured it out? I have the same carb and float and i cant figure out if its suposed to be fl 15/32 or 1 5/32 iv also found measurements of 5/32 . i figure the drop really isnt important because the carb bowl is only like 1 7/8 deep. And i highly doubt its 1 5/32 witht his style float because that would put it way too low

I bought a new metal float and set it according to specs for that float.
    No more problems. Runs good.

One more thing I found out. Carb kits don't always have the proper float valve for the float you are using.
Make sure you have the correct valve and float.

    Jeep 2003,
I went back and looked thru the receipts that I kept on my last build but did not find the float receipt. There should be any number of places to get a 2G metal float and valve.
Wish I could be of more help.

Advance Auto. says the part number for a Rochester 2G 1967 225 is 779-8059B.
The one in your link doesn't look right but this one does. Make sure it is for the correct carb. number.
The port on the back of my carburetor is connected to the pvc valve.

Went through this recently. Napa had the necessary float and rebuild kit for the daughter's '70. Had to order it but had it in a day.

The big vacuum port in the back goes to your pcv valve in the rocker cover.
