gettin ready to do this and am gonna order a kit from quadratec, they list two different kits both with the same discription. however one says "with warn full floating hubs," does this mean they come with them cause they're not pictured? also my hubs are AVM branded if that helps and this is for the project listed in my signature.

Buy the it that has the same number of mounting bolts as your hubs, and No, the Warn hubs are not included.

Pretty darned expensive for a disc kit, you should be able to source all the parts yourself and save a lot of money IMHO.

thanks for the reply, i actually have a coupon that knocks 20% off plus free shipping. i have looked into gettin all the parts individually from both quadratec and other suppliers, including ordering from multiple suppliers, and with shipping and/or taxes, if from a local parts house, it totals more than that.

I did the GM conversion with junkyard brackets ($50) and bought new calipers, new rotors (4 Wheel Parts Hardware) and studs and it cost me about $300.

I'd contact R&P at 503-557-8911. They have a front kit that IIRC sells for $550 and is just as complete with new rotors, calipers, hoses, etc., etc.

To do the Chevy disc brake swap , you use the brackets from a mid 70 to late 70's Dana 44 axle . Chevy 1/2 ton truck K10 , Blazer etc... 4 x4.

The thick full circle plates are nice and beefy.

There is a write up in the tech section.

I've got the GM converison on mine, it's working great so far. I bought an entire converted axle for $200 and sold $100 worth of parts off it for a cheap swap. The only custom work on mine is that the stock drum hubs were machined on the back to give a smooth surface for the rotor to ride against.

I just used this kit here http://www.tsmmfg.com/2570.htm I am happy with the kit. The price seemed reasonable. It does not com with calipers but uses common gm calipers that are found easily at the local auto parts store. It uses GM late 70s' and 80s' A/G body front calipers or if you need an E Brake rear disk equipped 80s' Trans Am and Cadillac deville calipers. I went with the G body calipers as I was given a set and I have a the drum E brake on my Dana 18. Here is a picture of my kit installed.[IMG]
