Favorite upgrades or mods...

I am interested to know what everyone has done to their jeeps that is special, neat, personal, or just plain out there. Stuff like gauge panels, heated seats, tow hooks, back seats, jerry can mounts, winches, carpet, radios, or anything under the hood, air horns, electronic ignition, heaters, whatever...Pics great tooR)

 

I took a locking Tuffy-like stereo console for a CJ-7 and made it fit between the seats of my 67. Also made some cupholders out of pvc that will hold a 64 ounce soda. I'm pretty proud of both of those. Don't have any pics though....

I made a hand throttle out of my daughters 10 speed clicker,monkeys works awsome and can be fine tuned one click 800 rpm will go just above idle for a faster slow crawl ,,and 4-5 clicks is great for a cruise control ,you just always need to remember it's clicked up before you push the clutch in R)R). I also put cj7 springs on my 5 and did a shackle reversal . ...it does dive when you brake but the ride I feel is worth it when running down a sand/rock wash ....you will get used to it. and speed bumps will not throw your neck out. and 2 gas tanks, I was always running out of fuel edit needed to add more fox shocks a T 18 ,dana texas 300 , HEI, lockers , an Offy intake so when we go to Glamis I can throw the 4bbl on .and Beard suspension seats, and a jeep heater for my wife.

 

FF conversion in rear, front dana 44, 4 wheel disc brakes, PTO winch, later model w/s with bottom wipers, Locker's front and rear, Buick V-6, on board air, comfy bucket seats, remove interlock in 18 transfer case, wide ratio Saginaw 4 speed, lift, 33" tires, Definitely saginaw power steering, high output alternator, larger radiator, better heater.

 

11" brakes and dual MC.

 

Reverse shackle, boxed frame, HEI, T18, dual tanks,traction diffs fore and aft ,power steering, 33% highr flow radiator, shroud, heavy duyt fan, high volume oil pump, Rochester Q jet(not sure if the 4bbl is really worth it since the stocker simply ran sooooo well), 11 Waggy brakes.

Do you have pics of your shroud? I swear one of these days I'm going to find a junkyard shroud that fits the stock radiator. Don't know how many I've pulled home to date that have been soooo close, but yet so far.

The good news is I have one, the bad news is isn't stock. I simply bent a two(or so) inch piece of tin around the fan and attached it to the flanges on the radiator.It isn't one hundred percent efficient, but it helps a lot. If I got really fancy, I would cut out some pieces of tin, scribe and remove the arc of the fan, and further enclose the fan by welding them to the edges of the existing enclosure. But, to be honest, I'm thinking of experimenting with some electric fan configurations in the future and not really willing to do more with it. I can try to give a picture, but it really isn't much to look at, although it sure helps do the job. The fan will pull at your clothing through the radiator at idle.

Today, I put a manual passenger side wiper on. THe original that I had did not have a spring to apply force to the windshield, but I modified it today with a new chrome wiper assembly, keeping the interior handle the same. Kind of wish that I had put it on the driver side, stronger than the 12v motor that powers the driver side...
