lay down the windshield, run a couple of pan-head sheet metal screws in from the top. (one on each end will do it)

I went with machine screws and nuts -- trust them more that way with all the movement involved.

Mine came with instructions. Lay down the windshield, line up the new air duct, and drill 1/8 holes where the old screws used to go. Use the old screws.

Once it's on, take a second to run a bead of silly-cone around the plastic to seal the air leaks. Might do wonders to actually get the warm air to where it's susposed to go.................

Also if I remember right, the inlet faces the wrong direction from the original. Seems like I had to buy another hose to go from the heater to the duct inlet because the original hose was too short. I think the units are really made for +72 with the heaters on the pass. side

It's square too, w/ a collar that will not fit up to duct. I used cling vinyl wrap (FLAPS) to make the connection. It sealed it up real good.

Sorry to chime in late on this one. I got the plastic duct for my 69, went to the FLAPS and got preheater hose that would fit the opening on the heater box. Clamped it on. then when I mounted it to the defroster I would not fit around the outside of duct so it got pushed up inside, and wrapped with duct tape multiple times to ensure no air leaking and not falling off. Worked for mine very well. Not sure about the square opening thing though.
