('57 M38a1) I am in the process of painting my jeep. I got the sand paper, paint rollers and thinner. I took the hood off because that is what I'm working on first. After the sanding, and primer how much thinner do you add to the paint? Is there a ratio? Also, I am using an olive drab flat. How many coats? And afterwards is there anything I need to do like buff it or what? I am not looking to make this thing look like it just came off the showroom floor. It just needs a paint job. It has a few different shades on it now. I would appreciate any advice, thanks -G

There is a ratio of thinner to paint. Depends on the paint. Check with the store that sold the paint or manufacturer for the proper ratio....

There was a post about painting with a roller and it looking real good. The ratio was 50-50 and three coats then sanding and then 3 coats then sanding until you get the result you are looking for. The link was posted about 18 months ago. Hot Rod magazine did a article last year on the same subject.
