I know this is asking alot. What are the years i need to directly swap a dana 30 into my 1963 willys? And if you have any recommendations of year and type of front dana 44's to swap into a narrow track jeep. High pinion or low pinion.

The jeep already has an SOA with 2.5" spring lift, but with the stock dana 25. (bought it like that). I want to put a dana 30 w/ flat knuckle 44's and converted high steer. (my steering is binding). Or I dont mind cutting up a D44, but for the work, I'd rather have a high pinion.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

All high pinion are driver side diff, so you will have to have it retubed.

I have done a couple of 74-79 wagoneer dana 44 fronts that are narrowed to 54".

Any Cj dana 30 will fit.

A CJ Dana 30 is an almost bolt in swap. You just need to widen the bolt holes in the spring plate.

Uh - you need a NT 72-81 CJ Dana 30 to fit 'right'. Those are 53" WMS to WMS vs 56" on the WT of later years.

There is no 44 front that is the right width for a narrow track CJ. One would have to be narrowed up. Like said above, the high pinions were all driver's side pumpkin so the tubes would have to be swapped at the minimum. Nickmil
