Well I finally got my 74 up and running a few weeks back but I went to move it with just the front drive shaft in and it kicks out of 1st gear when I let off the clutch but seems fine in all the other gears havent got to try 3rd yet but from what I have read about the T150 is that would mean the 1st gear syncronizer is shot. Anyone got any tips for this project or good write ups?

Did you change to a T150? I would have thought yours had a T15.

This was the first trans. I tore into with just the help of a Chiltons manual, really didn't require any special tools to do it, all in all pretty easy to repair. But in my experience I would ditch the trans if you are anything but stock. I went through 4 of them behind a stock 304 on 33 inch tires.
