$46 CJ2A upgrades and advice

I'm looking to put some 33's under my 2A and wanted to add some flex to the suspension. Whats the best way to do this. My frame is cracking in random spots... just fixed a crack by the crossmember. I really don't like watching my hood slide 2 or 3 inches across my fenders. I would like a suspension that absorbs the bumps rather than my frame. I'm about to install an SM420, dana 18 tera low tcase, and rebuilt overdrive. I would like to put TJ springs on it how much and where does the frame have to be stretched? I don't want to do a spring over lift. And I don't want to hack the body away. Is there anyone else out there with 33's on their flattie? Thank for the help.

 

I'm running 2.5" superlift springs with about an inch or half an inch shackle lift, and a 2 inch body lift. Makes enough room for my 35's so 33's would be fine with that setup.

 

I'd look at the Holbrook Springs. They add about 3" of lift with enough room for 33" tires. They flex very well and ride great. Only down side is a little more body roll. Very little modifications needed to install with no stretching of the frame or body necessary. They can be seen here http://www.holbrookspecialties.com/

They are in Gladstone, OR, just south of Portland so aren't too far away from you. You might also do a search on these as lots of comments were made about them. Nickmil

half inch shackle, 2.5 springs, 33's. I wouldnt go bigger.

 

Zup - I'm putting the Holbrook long leafs on mine right now. Just took off a set of Rancho springs. I'm close by - PM me if you're interested in them.

 

I would be more than happy to stop by and check out the rancho's. Right now I'm B***'s deep in replacing my tranny with an sm420, new Tcase, and O-drive. I'll be heading down to Herms this Friday to pick everything up. And I'm currently looking to dispose of an extra 225 oddfire block(looks complete, but in pieces) that I inherited when I bout my jeep. Plus I'm not too sure how much longer I will be in this area. Right now I need to get things finished with the drive train and I'm looking for new things to burn holes through my wallet and pants when I get to the midwest. I might have to get a fire proofed steel wallet with a chain and an anchor... That I can't get into. Cheers!
