Tonight I installed round LED tail lights, here lies the problem: The running lights work, the brake lights work and the hazzards work. When I turn on the turn signals I am getting nothing. Could this be a problem with a switch or something, I guess I just don't understand why I have hazzards and no turn signals. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Aaron

Did you install a flasher rated for LED's? From my understanding the flasher needs a certain amount of load to operate, and LED's don't provide enough for a standard flasher. The Hazards are most likely getting enough feedback form the two front lights to make it work, but the one front light and the LED aren't enough of a load to make the turn signal work. Some flashers just wont work at all, and some will flash faster than normal when used in conjunction with LED's

the only flasher I have is the stock flasher, is there a certain type for the leds, I was just on autozones website and they have three different types- electro-mechanical, loud, and loud kit... any suggestions thanks Aaron

my local Schucks sells a resistor that plugs inline with the LED, and fools the stock flasher into thinking there is a regular bulb in the system. might check that option...
Its in the RICER neon/LED section.

Seems plausable that the flasher might be a problem but I did not have to change mine when I swapped from an 1157 to the led's. Do the lights light but not flash or is there nothing? The hazards would have a higher load as there would be double the amount of lights so that could explain the difference.

yea, you need a resistor in there....pretty common problem with LED tail lights on jeeps.

a google search will reveal a home-made how-to for wiring in the resistors....I'd look but i'm at work and cant waste THAT much time :)

    good luck....

Just put in an electronic flasher designed for led's. Plugs right in with no mods. Had the same issue on the boss's Wrangler when switched to LED's. Electronic $12 flasher fixed it. Nickmil

I really appreciate all the replies and advice, anyone know where I can pick up a resistor or electronic flasher for the leds.

TheBeav1955- the running lights work, brake lights work, and leds flash quickly when hazzards are turned on. Thanks again Aaron

If the Hazards are flashing quickly, it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it also. I know the advanced auto here has the electronic flashers in the same aisle as the led taillights they sell.

We picked it up at Napa here but pretty much any flaps (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store) should carry them. Nickmil
