Paint and trim decal size

I am trying to recreate my trim and paint decal for my 72 cj 5 and was wondering if anyone can tell me the dimensions on the decal. I understand this decal was used on the cj5 from 70 to 73.

I hope someone can help

 

the paint/trim on my 70 was not a decal but a piece of 3/4 " wide aluminum tape with the 2 number codes pressed into it. stuck on the firewall above the battery. hope that helps

 

Thats what I am looking for I need to know the actual size.

 

also are the numbers stamped in or raised i.e stamped from behind?

 

raised numbers (stamped from behind). I will try to get a pic of it when I get home

dimentions 2-1/4 inch long by 11/16 inch wide .010 inch thick aluminum
the numbers are 3/16 by 1/8 inch block, pressed in from the back. they are stamped with the bottom of the number 1/16 above the bottom of the plate. the first number starts 1/2 inch from the left side of the plate, the second number starts 1-5/8 inch from the left side of the plate when viewed from the front.

it was mounted at an angle on the firewall about 2 inches above the center of my battery, it was covered with undercoating and very hard to find.

I made some for myself and some of the guys a while back. I might have some blanks left if you can't get one made, let me know the codes and I can punch it out for you. Mine are not quite like the original as I had to punch from the front, not the back. You will have to have a reverse set of punches to punch from the back.

Thanks everyone for the help, WYOMIKE I saw your directions from on a post from last year and I am trying to make my own your directions were great and I think I have it right the metal tape was hard to find here in Norway but I found the tape you use to fix holes in your muffler, I assume thats about the same as you used. I was able to print them and I am going to try and stamp it today, If this does not work out I may need to take you up on your offer.
