You can get brand-new reproduction frames and cushions from Beachwood Canvas, and you're right about spendy! http://www.beachwoodcanvas.com/

There may be others as well, do a Google search for "M38A1 parts". There's DeBella Jeep Parts, he has lots of military stuff, and I know there's several others that specialize in military Jeep parts. There's also Mona Roth from New Life Canvas, she makes seat cushions for a lot of the military collectors over on G503. She'll probably already have the patterns, and she's got good prices. Again, Google "New Life Canvas". I know that will bring up a link about her buying the business from New Life Resources, and it has all her info there.

Check with Midwest Military. On their website under Vehicles for Sale, there are several M38A1's that they state they will sell off the parts. The pictures show what appear to be good seat frames. The website states "call for prices." Shipping may be the big cost, but who knows? Good luck!:)

Might also try Willys Restoration at 541-336-5869. He's in Toledo, Oregon so a little closer. Real nice people there. He does the engine rebuilds for Debella's. He specializes in Flatties but may have parts for the A1. Nickmil

While we're on the subject, will M38a1 seats fit in my '59 CJ5 without doing any mods?
    Thanks

I can't say for sure, but I'd think they would. I don't believe the drivers seat would have the adjustment capability that the stock CJ5 seat would have though. My early '5 drivers seat has three holes in the feet, to give you three mounting locations. I think the stock M38A1 seat just bolts down and that's it. Somebody else chime in here....

Here's photos from Beachwood Canvas of the seat frames that they told me I need for my '56 CJ5, I think these are actually M38A1 frames. Rich told me to use these, I'm sure, because the correct CJ5 seats aren't available.

You might try 820 Jeep in Ft Worth TX or put a listing in M38 wanted on g503.com
