Found this in CT woods

Is it worth my trouble to get it out of the woods and restore it to just drivable condition , not really into the show . Just for something that i can hop in an go anywhere .

 

Well, anything is possible, usually, but that puppy is far gone. Better to get it for parts and find another. I bet it has some good usable parts on it though. Pick it up if it is cheap and start searching for a better one. Never leave them to die....

 

If you get it . . . I want the roll bar!!! R) R) R)

 

I bet the axles are good. if you wanna make a buggy and have a decent amount of time it would work. I wouldn't pass it up. if you can haul away for nothing and have the room to keep on your premises then I would do it.

I certainly would haul it away for parts if it didn't cost anything. Is it abandoned? Bringing it back to driving condition would cost way more than it's worth IMO.

Up to a point, restoration gets cheaper overall as you spend more on the vehicle that you start with. Save your pennies and spend a couple thousand dollars on something driveable ... it will be much cheaper in the long run.

Tim is right. I spent nothing on Chia and a ton to get it running which I have yet to be able to do.

 

I really like the radiator cap idea...if you had a lift, you could probably hold the roll bar up at the same time as the radiator cap when you drive the new jeep under it!!!!!!

Seriously, get what parts you can and leave the rest for a nice field mouse habitat!

 

Looks better than that CJ7 JP magazine got running (the one missing the back half) R) . I've seen guys run rigs that were just a pile like that...but you'd need an engine for it at a minimum. It's actually kind of fun driving around the woods in a heap like that...just make sure someone else is around with a "real" rig R) . Probably not a good place to start for a fixer though...

Well I made a long responce but i could not copy it since it told me i was loged out . So i'm not typing it all up . so clif note will do

this jeep was abandoned on top of a hill years ago.
this winder moved about 500', to that water dich , but it drove over other diches .
so it must have been runing b4 winter.
it's got to this state by local kids, they wreked it and riped off the fenders window, etc..
it's geto rided suspention .
sqwere tubing welded all over the springs to get a lift.
it had a plow at some point.

I thought that it's worth my trouble casue it's 1965 cj5. originaly i was under the impretion it was keiser cj3 by serial number said that it's cj5 canada made , buick v6.

I just crashed my Land Rover Disco II , and i walked away with cut up two fingers and two bruses .

 

There is an A in the data plate. Does that mean it used to be a running Tuxedo?

And what does it have for a transmission/tc/overdrive if any?

 

So, what does the 'A' stand for?
