Yeah, for such a small town especially. There's three that I know of...all "flame red." Mine is the standard wheelbase, and the other two are Unlimited's. One of them has the hemi conversion! The other one (without the hemi) is the guy I bought my CJ-6 from. Kinda funny, I had been shopping online for an intermediate CJ-6 for a few years, and this one found me, right here in town! He dropped it off at my house even!

Back on your headlight topic, I am not a mechanic in the slightest (which explains why I'm not the one wrenching on the CJ), but I was wondering about the relay aspect of this conversion. What's the reasoning behind this, and should I also do it? What else should I do to maintain good voltage to the headlights (as well as all the other electronics)? High output alternator? etc.

Yeah, mine's lifted....3.75", 285's, ARB bull bar, Currie rear tire carrier, pretty much the standard package that AEV offers (no upgraded axles). As far as Rubi's go in general, there are many here in town. Hell, just at TA-55 where I work there are 4 red ones, 1 silver (lifted with 285's), one khaki, one white. Two of the AEV modified Rubi's (including mine) are at TA-55, with the third one working at TA-46. You gotta check out the red one that has the Hemi conversion with 5 speed auto. AEV makes it look like it came from the factory that way, and it's warrantied! The only problem with the hemi conversion is cost....BIG $$!

Which the reflectors or the relay?

My IPFs were more than Patrick's. $30/reflector IIRC, I paid too much for the light bulbs. Shoulda just gone to Wal-Mart and bought the Silverstars.

    IPFs are available here:

Don't go too cheap on the reflectors as Patrick found out.

Cheap ones won't do you much more good than the sealed beams that are in there.

Delta, IPF, Hella are the three I'd recommend. Yes, a 7" round replacement is what you need.

Yeah, actually I have. A couple of weeks ago I ran into him and we chatted Jeeps for a good while! It's pretty sharp! 4 doors is something I'm gonna hafta get used to, but there's a lot of things I really like about the JK.

Thanks for pushing me Patrick (and for the info Sparky)........

I ordered the IPF reflectors from here: http://www.rocky-road.com/ipfH4.html

and bought Silverstars at Wally World last night, got them installed, and they work great.

For ~$100, the difference is amazing.

Makes you wonder why you waited so long to do the conversion, doesn't it?
