Original is made of a fiber or cardboard, and the aftermarket is of plastic.

It was fastened with a clip that was on the duct and a metal screw that went through the top of the body under the windshield frame into that clip.

The heater box will have two outlets for the defroster, one of which was capped off at the factory and the other went to the defroster.

I don't think they went bad, so either ought to work, except that you know the fiber / cardboard one will fit, and the plastic one could be an Ada-Omix part which means it carries the Ada-Omix 'quality??' for fit and function.

Doesn't look like "5" ducts to me, too skinny. I believe the trucks/waggys had seperate ducts, thats how the truck heater I got from CeeJay is set up.

I've still got the cardboard one that came out of Maggie, I'll try & take a pic of it for you today

Yep, those are truck/wagon ducts had those in my 60 wagon! I'd keep those if thats what you got, I have the plastic duct and had trouble getting the round duct over the squarish plastic duct.

Well, I don't have them, I have the chance to buy them. They came out of a reasonably stock '56 CJ5, so the owner assumed they were stock '56 CJ5 ducts. He only wants $20, so I think I'll get 'em anyway. If I can make 'em work, cool. If not, somebody somewhere with a truck or wagon wants 'em. I can always get my $20 back to buy one from Herm. Better than lettin' 'em hit the trash can.

OK. I told him I'd buy them if he wanted, since he saved them for me. Or, he could put 'em on Ebay since I would probably not use them, I'd pass 'em on to someone that needed some. He elected to Ebay 'em, so these are up for grabs if anybody needs/wants a pair. I have no link, don't know when he's posting them on Ebay.

I pulled the big huge heater box out my '55 last night...the thing must have come out of a late '60s truck. It was HUGE. It actually took up most of the length of the underside of the dash. Stuck my head up there and found...one of thoes plastic defroster ducts. Has a round inlet. I'll probably e-bay it someday as well, since mine won't have a heater.

I replaced my old one with a plastic one. The original was cardboard.
