I too used the EZ Wire kit. Very straightforward install if you take your time. Get a bunch of zip ties also, makes it easy to make a nice looking bundle.

I used GM Weather-pak connectors on all the wires that exit the firewall. I did this so it would be a no brainer to remove the tub in the future if needed.

Just curious but how are you guys wiring up your gauge lights? The EZ Wire kit has 1 gauge illumination wire. I just spliced into it for each gauge but am wondering how many gauges the wire can handle.

When i did mine, i went a little overboard....i had the 21ckt kit, and used one of the heavier wires that were not used(dont remember which one) and tied that into a distribution block, then powered all my dash stuff off the block

i had a lot of other acc's running off of that dist. block, if you are running just gauges, you should be fine....thats what the wire is for, running all your gage lights....atleast that was my assumption

My CJ harness had all the gauge lights running off of it before I put the EZ Wire in anyway.

Well the harness was done today. It really was a well made kit and besides one semi mismarked wire all went well. A friend of mine had some time this weekend and he was able to lend a hand. He has done some wiring before so he had some good ideas. The first good idea was to run the wires under the fan shroud and on top of the front frame rail..

Then, I was going to keep the stock external Motorola VR, but he talked me into getting a GM one wire alternator and it eliminated a small bundle of wires by its self..

We were able to hide everthing pretty nicely.. Dont mide the speaker wire, that still needs some attention tonight.. Thanks again to everyone for their help..

Great job, nice and clean install too. I will have to remember that little hint about running the wires under the grill for the lights I am finishing up my wiring also. Luckily my existing wire was in pretty good shape except for that darn starter wire from the ignition which gave me fits trying to figure out what was wrong.

    Hats off to ya:beer:

I am just about finished wiring in my new harness. I went with the EZ 21 kit. I freaked out when I started but it turned out it was not that bad. Just had to go slow and think things through. The EZ wire company has a tech you can call. He knows is stuff and is very helpful. Before I started I got great advise from this web site and very helpful. It is alot of work though. Its taken me alot of time and I am not done yet. will be worth it in the end. The old wire was shot............
