Mid 70's to mid 80's GM domestic car and trucks. There are pulley differences and mounting differences. Biggest mounting difference is the way the case is "clocked" but that can be changed easily. Try a 1980 Chev Monza with a 231 V-6. Nickmil

I've got a question to ask about these alternators, if I may. Is there a way to distinguish between the 1" wide mount and 2" wide mount models? Reason I ask is because I'm looking for the 1" size to replace the stock Motorola alt, which obviously has a 1" wide mount.

    Good question ,
I was wondering the same thing . I was even thinking of cutting/grinding the larger mount down on one of these alternators .

Is that what guys are doing , to make them fit ??:)

just cut the mount down it's hollow inside and ez to cut . That what I did for my 74 with a 232 six ..make sure meas from front of the mount so the belt will be inline with the pulley..
