I'm just finishing the rebuild on my F134. I've gone to the fuel pump without the vacuum line for the wiper motor as I'll be running electric wipers. The service manual talks about the PCV valve but where should it be located? Is it inline between the block side cover and the intake manifold below the carb? My engine came in a million pieces and I can't find anything that looks like one. Any ideas?

Yup, that's a PCV valve. It runs to the port at the base of the carb IIRC.

Yeah, it is a PCV valve, however you'll find it is less of a valve than it is a small orifice.

You can just clean and paint it -- I don't think you could buy a new one.

That's one item that was missing on my '56 motor, it had a piece of tubing with the end pinched and soldered shut. I think all 3 of my freebie motors have that, I know two do for sure. Ugly damn thing, looks like a great source of leaks.

Guys: Thanks a lot. I figured the PCV must be in line somewhere. The link to the Debella Jeep Parts works great for me. I think I can buy a generic in-line PCV at Canadian Tire stores (one of our Canadian institutions like Tim Hortons coffee and hockey, although after the Olympics we might have to drop that) Thanks again for all the help.

Smokin F head....Ok I found the PVC. It is soaking in carb cleaner. I noticed there is not a ball or anything to completey shut this valve, There is a cone shaped fitting inside the valve..it was stuck..hince the Carb cleaner...I will post follow up as this should be one way valve..if it blows both ways then new one must be orderd.25 bucks...geez...in any event I think that this may solve the probem...if Not Valve job is next as after futher research I do not think the 63 f head had any seals on the valve ..just guides. If anyone has any futher input I would love the help

I just cleaned my 1961 F head PCV valve. It is not one way like modern ones, you will get air passing both ways if you blow into the ends.
It also doesn't rattle like new ones. So don't assume it's bad if checked like modern valves.
Mine had pieces of rubber stuck inside. Once cleaned it really sucks! Works like a charm, engine runs smooth.

Ok that did not work...LOL..still smoking..although valve did need a good cleaning. FYT the valve comes apart and had an inner spring I gave through cleaning and put back together. I would try this before paying 25 bucks for a new one. I think next step for me might be Valve Job. Still wondering if 63's had valve seals?

Ok ordering head set. It contains seals according to parts guy. He was useing old book and he says it has seals. I might be spinning my wheels here. we will see. If I can avoid valve job which is next step It will help the pocket book. If not then Valve job it is..If that doesn't do it we know where this is headed after Deer season...lol.

Hello, I'm attaching a pic of the same PVC valve that was shown in one of the quesitons regarding the pvc valve. Only thig I did was circle some items I have in question.

    1. The black circle with the arrow, is this been capped or plugged?
    2. The Red circle, is this the PVC valve?
    3. Or is the blue circle the PVC valve?

    Thanks
