I saw this shackle in this months Four Wheeler mag.

Anybody used one? I am doing a shackle reversal on my commando and I thought that this would help to keep my pinion angle and caster closer to the correct angle. Since I am using waggy axles, the springs are outboard and I cant run the shackle bolt through the frame. The shackle and spring hang pretty low.

    any comments?

    thanks

They work great on go fast cars that need good handling in corners like stock cars. My personal experience has been they limit articulation of the axle due to not allowing the shackle to twist and also don't seem to last long in dirty/dusty/muddy environments. Nickmil.

I was concerned about the articulation as well. I had not considered the dirty conditions issue. I will probably keep the current shackle set up and adjust the pinion/caster using shims or lowering the front mount.

A guy in a club I used to be in had a set of those on his Jeep...and I noticed that they really seemed to limit articulation.
