    Not much going on at work since I'll be out for the next couple weeks. Took some measurements this morning and bent some stainless up. About to go weld the 2 pieces together.

    I'd like to see the dang mice chew thru this one.

    The travel can get a little old but the rest of what I do I really enjoy. This was some pieces of scrap that I used. 5 pounds cost me a little under $5

    Not my best welding yet. Something seemed off but one of the other techs checked out the tig settings and they should've been good. Scotch bright pad will clean it up good enough though.

    I think this is a great project.
    Good chance to practice my TIG.
    MIG is out of shielding gas anyway.

    Made sure it fit...
    The tabs on the dash just fit inside the box. I'll have to mark the holes and drill to install.
    The 2 dimensions that matter are 10.750" x 4.750" for the opening. I made this one 8.500" deep just because the piece of scrap I found was that wide. Same reason I didn't make the top, bottom and back all one piece. Just what I could use from scrap bin.
    I put a .500" flange around the edges so I didn't have to weld the whole edge. You could remove that and just weld however much you want

    I have the deep ABS box. Put alight in that runs off the courtesy position of the headlight switch. Also put in a light on each side of the dash that illuminates the floor.

    Damn, now that’s nice. Wow.

    I wired in a low draw led light strip into my glove box so when my lights are on, I can open my box and actually see what’s inside. I also lined it with some carpet to dampen noise and keep things from being scratched inside.

    I have some tool drawer liner left over from my matco box. That might be a good idea to cut a piece of that and throw in there
