Great info here. If I can't get mine modified to work I'll call Walks next - then maybe the $25 adjustable arms.

Hey Fireball, On your ‘69 with bottom mount wipers and flat-top glass, do you have the stand-offs like found on top mount wiper frames?
Scott’s original post (#1) photo shows stand offs with no wiper arm. I thought all bottom mount wiper frames didn’t use stand offs, in other words, only top mount wiper frames used stand offs. Am I mistaken?

Yes, the '69 with the lower wipers and flat-top glass still has the standoffs above the glass and the latch to hold the hood up. It has two footman loops on the hood center line. A tall one at the front to latch the hood up and a shorter one further back to strap the windshield down:

The '71 with the curved top glass has two taller footman loops that work as windshield standoffs and the same short one to strap the windshield down:

Since you can't latch the hood to the curved top windshield, the '71 has a prop rod added:

Interestingly, this Jeep posted in the introductions (First Jeep Project) doesn't look like it ever had standoffs or a hood latch. I don't see any holes at the top on the windshield or a tall footman on the hood.

This has been a very interesting thread. I hope Scott can figure out his issue! ;)

Yes. I am happy to still be learning things after all these years in addition to all the things I must relearn. Thank you gang.

My Jeep has bottom mounted wipers. When I bought it, it was equipped with the flat top glass. Unfortunately, the frame was beyond repair and nobody reproduces that style. I bought a repro curved glass frame and moved the wiper motors over. After reading this thread I now realize I can put longer wiper blades on it! Good stuff.
Fireball helped me sort out the differences re hood prop, footman loops and so on. My hood still has the holes for the big footman loop that clips into the hood latch which I can't have. Oh well.

Me too! There were so many subtle changes in production in the last 6 or 7 years, I’m always learning something from this forum. It great to have a handful of members that have preserved the originality of their Jeeps.
    Thanks everyone!
