I've done the search thing and have found some information (mostly for older model CJ's), on this conversion. I would like to pick your brains/experience inregards to this swap. Poision Spyder has a full axle conversion for CJ's (76 to 86 of course).
http://www.spydercustoms.com/index2.html The conversion is listed at the bottom of the page.

With a little extra effort the concept should be transferable. Agree or Disagree?

Thanks for putting up w/ my newbie questions.

I am going to start my waggie swap this weekend/weekend. i am just gonig to make my own outboard brackets and keep th erear springs under the frame. I can do it cheaper than the poison spider kit. it is a nice kit, but too much for me. At the same time goto wrangler springs since you are going this far, they really make the ride better.

I'm just finishing up this swap. I basically did just what Dan said, kept the rear springs under the frame rails and made some simple outboard brackets for the front springs. If you're going spring over axle at the same time, you'll have to do some grinding to make the front passenger side spring perch work. I vote for switching to the wrangler springs, because it really isnt any extra work.

Thanks for the info. I agree the Poison system is exspensive. I thought it was a good base design to get the plan going.

    Thanks again

Blue Torch Fab Works has a kit that's said to be pretty cost effective. Seems to be a decent kit. Don't know if they make one for early CJ's or not, the one I saw was on a Wrangler and looked good. Don't have a link or contact info, saw an ad in one of the new rags and probably have a web site if a search is done. Nickmil.
