I am in the middle of replacing the seals and bearings on my 73 CJ5 transmission. I noticed that the shift fork wear pads are almost gone. Where can I buy these pads? I can't find them anywhere. I really don't want to buy new forks just for the pads.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought my T18 pads from PartsMike.com when I did the rebuild. Not sure about T14 though.

Can you post a pic? Host on Photobucket or the like and link them here. I've rebuilt at least 75-100 T-14's and never seen one with wear pads on the shift forks like some other transmissions have (Late T-18's for example). This is probably why you are having difficulty finding them. Someone may have retrofitted a worn fork though. Some did have a plastic like coating on the forks but the fork was dipped in the coating and is not replaceable to the best of my knowledge.

Not seeing them posted in the parts manuals either but didn't check past 73.

I don't have a photo but you are right. It's a Teflon coating not a plastic insert. The coating is pealing off in some areas. Would I be ok just putting those back?

Only purpose is to dampen noise/vibration from traveling up the shift lever.
    Run 'em as is.
