I can't seem to find any good pictures of the caliper brackets used for the conversion using chevy parts. I got everything put together using the 1/8 inch thicker inner races and I'm still about 1/8th off. Bought my brackets off ebay a long time ago and beginning to wonder if maybe they aren't the right ones. So If anybody has a good pic or 2 of the correct caliper brackets I would sure appreciate it. Thanks Chad.

mine doesn't have the circle on it. Is it possible that i have the wrong one? 2wd version maybe?

The circle is a dust shield. It is, on mine, removable. It does not change the mounting distance.

I figured that it was a dust shield. Went back and took it all apart a double checked the inner race just to make sure it was the right one, appears to be all good. Calipers were for a 78 chevy and rotors from a 78 cj. Not sure if I got something wrong or just unlucky.

Which way is it off? Is it tight on the backside of the disc?

Yes it is off on the backside of the disc and I have a gap on the front side. It is so tight on the back that I cant even slide the pad into place.

Machine a little more off the back of the hub. I've had to do that on a couple conversions I've done where the pad is too tight on the backside. Just moves the rotor out slightly.

I think what jeepermc is refering to is that newer hubs are machined flat on the back while the older hubs are not. I had one bad hub already when I did the disc conversion and I founds hubs (I think from 4Wheel Drive Hardware) that were not much more than the cost to machine the old hubs, so I just bought new hubs. I'd bet that is what is causing your problem

Crown doesn't have the best reputation, but these hubs have worked fine for me for the last 6 years or so.

Oddly enough Posi the Crown bearing hubs are one of the few items I haven't had a problem with.

You can't beat the price on them. I couldn't get my old ones machined for that.

I'll check the hubs. I bet I didn't have enough machined of the back of the hubs. I just took enough to make them flat. Thx guys.
