what type of gear box do i have

    I have a V6 225 cj5 my gear box is 3 speed
    what type of gearbox is it?

    If it is stock, it's either a T86 or a T14 depending on the year.

    Read the numbers cast into the side of the transmission. A T-86 says "T-86" and a T-14 says "T-14" or "1302."

    Supposedly,67 and earlier would be the T86 and 68-71, the T14. However, since it was a practice of Willys and Kaiser to title Jeeps when sold, the Year on the title is only a loose guide. To wit: I have a 69 titled CJ5 with the T86. Hopefully you will find the T14 in there.

    I have a clearence in the gears, I would like to put a washer between the rear bearing and the brass washer

    There should not be a brass washer. There is a spacer that should be there. Iirc on a T-14 the proper spacer (steel) goes between the bearing and shaft. I'd have to double check as some transmissions have the spacer on the outside of the bearing.

    the spacer is outside it is between the bearing and the bull gear as said jpc.
    me i want to put a small washer inside the box between the bearing and the reverse gear
