I took my Dana 27 apart to install R&P front disk kit, this is what I found upon inspection:

I took apart the knuckles to install new seals while I was in there that far, I also I pulled off
The diff cover not a hell of a lot of gear oil was in there (first bad sign!) sprayed the gears out with brake cleaner and noticed what looks to be the oil slinger on the pinion shaft it was cracked and bent(wtf) so out comes the entire rear upon inspection the carrier bearing rollers were pitted and the cups too. (Will post some pics tomorrow, I was covered in grease so no touching the 700.00 Camera.lol.

My question is since I am replacing the carrier bearings and all the seals and need a new slinger do I go with a bearing and seal kit or do I need the shims And have to go with the master kit?????

Another thing I found was the lower king pin bearings were galled on one side and the other side was missing one roller it was gone??? But the cups are not scored at all? Should I replace all four bearings/cups and not mess around or will it be ok jut to replace the two lower bearings? Also I have a donor axel is it safe to pull king pin bearings out of that axel?

I would absolutely replace all king pin bearings and cups new. A common source of death-wobble, or hard steering, and a pain in the behind if you have to go back in later.

I've used the Yukon kits for years. Have found them to be one of the most complete kits available. Spend the extra on the master overhaul kit to make sure you get the slingers, etc you need. The basic overhaul kits sometimes dont have some of that stuff. Usually the front applications come with the inner axle seals as well. Double check on that for your application.
Many other companies call their rebuild kits master overhaul kits but most lack things like the slingers, new pinion nut, ring gear bolts, etc. assuming you will reuse the old ones.

A complete rebuild is in order from your description so plan on replacing all soft parts (bearings, seals, etc., etc.)
