It is a basket case but they are right, it is a special edition of that has meaning to you. I personally consider all the special editions just another Jeep but collectors definitely don't

A lot of people like those rims and that top could be saved for temporary use - that tub is shot as is the hood and fenders

If it was in CA, I'd be running for those wheels.

'72-'75 by the dash and steering column but has a '76 and newer windshield and top. FrankenJeep or a '75-'76 changeover model. I've seen one that was factory (not a special model) with parts from a '75 and '76 model. I had a crossmember that was a combination of '75 and '76 design and was factory Jeep CJ.

I think it's just a 75 with a late windshield. Wiring says 75 and up. M/C is 75 and down. Tail lights are 76 and up, but in the 75 and down location, probably replacements. That Jeep is worth saving.

From the angle of the knobs, I'd guess it's broken, like 99.99% of them.

Lots of good parts there. Looks like the tub is seriously rusty. Look for the pop rivet lines - the whole body has been covered over with sheet metal. No question it's seriously rotted.

I'd bet the original windshield frame rusted out - and this is a budget replacement. Or they got a deal on a later top, and had to fit this windshiedl to fit it. Other than the windshield, it's 100% 1975.

A set of five alloy rims for $175 seems like a good deal.

Manual steering, complete - column, shaft, steering gear. Pedal assembly with sled bracket. Dash controls and indicators. Draw bar. Fuel filler neck. Fuel liquid control valve (vapor recovery). Check the axle ratio - if it's 4.27, they are very desirable. Front axle is good for earlys, regardless. 11'x2" Bendix brakes all around, bolt-on for earlys. Seats and brackets. Roll bar. Warn hubs. Wiring harness, complete (has a fuse box). Grille and radiator and shroud. T-15 transmission. 304 engine, if it runs.

    Lots of good parts.

Its worth the $175 if the wheels are in decent shape. Depending upon the rust and wear there is around another $500 worth of parts on the Jeep. It looks like my 1975 renegade which has a late build date - June 1975. The windshield definitely has been replaced because it is a different color. Doug
