Lol.. Sorry for all the dumb question.. I'm super new to Flatties, and nobody else I know has any experience with em.

Ok, when shifting into 1st...clutch pedal has to be mashed to floorboard, any higher than that, it won't go into gear..does same when up shifting to 2nd..

    This normal for a t90?

I'd check your clutch adjustment. I'd also suggest getting a service manual that will help walk you through many of the necessary services and adjustments involved with an old vehicle like this. It is an invaluable resource.

Get a reprint of the factory manual, not a Haynes type mash-up.

Ok, 4x on the factory service manual. The clutch linkage is nearly identical for all of the old 4 cylinder CJ's, flatties or otherwise.
I am going to guess that when you remove the linkage rods you will find the rods decidedly notched at the bellcrank and the bellcrank holes oblong. The pivot stud also is likely worn and perhaps the bell crank too. All that is slop that is eating up your pedal travel and hence not moving the throwout arm. I believe all those pieces are still available but most may be omix ada which generally leaves something to be desired in the quality department.

    what duffer says
the adjustment may be fine; worn out parts causing the slop/play.
or maybe bubba has been there before you......

Ok... I've located the problem....or at least some of the problem. The pin that holds the clutch rod to the clutch crossover shaft is way under sized, there's a bunch of slop because of this...the rest of slop should might be "adjusted" out. I'll grab a new larger pin today and see what happens.

While you have that pin out, you may as well adjust the clevis on the release cable. The correct free travel on the pedal is 3/4" and you absolutely do need that free play or the throwout bearing can be riding on the pressure plate fingers with bad results for both the bearing and fingers.
