I know the info is here somewhere, but I have spent some serious time searching. I have completely, we'll almost completely torn down my t90. I even printed the willys tech guide by Rick, and didn't see it there either. What I know for sure is that the shift lever is somehow pinned in the tower, and the shift forks have been, what looks to be some kind of okie rig riveting method. Now I know assuming things isn't the best approach, but I guess I just drill these things out, and later down the road maybe tap the shift rails and bolt the shift forks to the rails with some locktite. This is my first rebuild of anything, and I want to do it right, with any luck, the first time. I plan on using all Novak parts for my t90 and my Dana 18 so you kind of see what I'm going after.

If I understand your (?) question correctly you're asking (1) How to get the shifter cane out of the tranny top & (2) how the shift forks are held to the shift rails-

(1)- The shifter came is held in by the spring inside the tower, pop it loose from underneath & the cane comes out.

(2)- the forks are supposed to be held to the shift rails by roll pins-

i had a tower that had the rivits in the shifting forks as you can see in the picture you can replace them with a roll pin

Cool. So the shift cane will come out with the removal of the spring? And my forks look like.they are.held in by a bad.roll pin installation.

The roll pins are peened over so they can't work loose and fall into the transmission.
