A little late to the game, but these guys XtremeTerrain.com are friends of mine and they have a ton of stuff and some vintage (original used) hard-to-get stuff as well.

Just a plug for some already mentioned vendors that I have bought parts from. Can't speak for any vendors other than these, and I am in no way affiliated with any of them:

Quadratec: They probably have what you need, so long as you know exactly what you need. The service reps answer phones and take orders well, but they don't know anything about JEEPs.

The Jeep Guy: Very fast responses via e-mail at all hours of the night. I never even talked to him on the phone. He knew exactly what I needed and had it shipped same day. Price was the same as the major catalogs, but shipping/handling was cheaper.

R&P: Paul seemed very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Was able to educate me on what I needed. Price was extremely reasonable, considering he was the only one that I contacted who knew how to locate the parts I needed.

Tellico 4x4/Discount Jeep Parts: Same company operating under two different names. They operate similar to Quadratec, but have many more listings for older JEEP part numbers, so long as you are okay with Omix. Extremely high shipping/handling, though.

4WD Hardware: Almost the same as Quadratec. They were very professional on the phone, but you could tell they've never spent 10 minutes working on a Jeep before. They were out of stock on two out of the three things I was looking for, but this may have just been a coincidence.

Parts Mike Parts: Just bought some Advance Adapters tie rod parts today. This guy really knows jeeps! Decent prices, and didn't bend me over on shipping.

Anyone have any idea of a supplier where I can find the hood hinges that come apart when the hood is raised to a certain position, and the windsheild mount that goes on the side of the cowl and does the same thing. The ones in the books (and I got 5 differant catalogs and none look like what I have) all look differant from what I have. And mine were chromed now rusted up. Thanks for any help.

Just got off the phone with Bob Supplee - how bout that - a business owner who also answers the phone - he defiantly gets my business, he also advised me on what I could do better by getting local if possible. He will be calling me back with a final order price - bushings and axle bolts are on order

    drexotic Happy now?!?!?

I'm working on my SOA so I went to visit two of the best Jeep parts folks I know.

John at Border Parts 3875 Bancroft Dr, Spring Valley, CA, 91977 (619) 461-0171)
    and . . .

    Jeff at M.I.T. (1112 Pioneer Way, El Cajon, CA 92020 (619) 579-7727)

I doubt that anyone on the planet knows more about old Jeep "innards" than John. Border Parts has been a part of the off road world since I was a kid (and that's quite a while). His place is filled to the prim with every imaginable engine, transmission and differential part! Call him! I'll bet he has what you need!

Jeff built my first set of locked up axles 10-15 years ago (right after he opened MIT) . . . I'll have him build my next set when I get to that stage as well. Right now he's going to make me a curved drag link for my SOA and he got me RE SOA springs cheaper than anywhere else I could find! Great people and all top drawer service and work!
