I run Cherry Bomb Turbo II's . Small case, not too loud, cheap, and they seam to last pretty good.

good deal i think i will write off the flowmasters because they are damn loud anyway but the thrush's have a little deeper tone and no drone so i might have to experiment with them

You're not really going to get any "drone" with a Dauntless.

thanks boyink...what mufflers?....i had thrushes dumped under my 5.0 mustang and it sounded great outside but inside you couldnt hardly tell they were dumped right under your seat even at highway speeds or when i was gettin nasty with it...thats what sold me on the thrushes i might have to try em out and if i dont like em i can alway put different ones on right

I run flowmasters and headers and, yes, it's pretty loud. Not the loudest 225 I've run but, it's loud. I kinda like it but I do find it to be a bit too much sometimes. Drone? Yea, I get it. A road trip with constant speeds and it sounds like a torpedo bomber buzzing through the sky. I picked the flowmastas initially because they are well built HD mufflers. This also means they are heavy. Much throatier than the turbos I used to run. It sounds BA but, if the mastas ever give up, I might go back to the turbos. I just remember crushing/ripping a turbo years ago and wanted something tougher but, for the price, they are inexpensive to replace should you waffle one. Sorry I can't give you a sound bite.

I'm running Hooker headers and Magnaflows, straight through design, stainless and built very well , they are smashed and still don't leak and pretty quiet at idle and off idle but a little droney at speed , ,, but still WAy quieter than the 442 with supercomp headers ,3" exhaust and 18" Flowmasters .

I'd like to add that what you run after the mufflers can have a big effect too. I ran headers on a warmed up 231 with straight glass packs (used) and it was ridiculously loud. I added 90 degree turnouts and it quieted them down significantly. I added new bullet style muffler (no name brand) with 90 degree turnouts and it's pretty quiet comparatively speaking when idling but still has a good tone when on the throttle. Performance hasn't suffered a bit.
wish I knew what the mufflers actually are. They weigh about 3 times as much as the glass packs I had on there.

Super Trapps - then tune them like you want them to be. Tried to get a sound file from my son's video for the FI I put on - didn't record well with his stuff.

And this is not a stock motor by any means either. Kenne Bell parts, stock torque is 235 by FSM, my FI is set to 290 right now and still looks to be a bit lean based on numbers.

Here is my Dauntless powered jeep with Headers and thrush turbo's, they are louder than the video makes it sound, this is idling with the choke on.

I guess I didn't really think of the potential "buzz" as drone, but I guess it is, just different than the drone I get with a Flowmaster on my 6.0 Chevy..:)

I have found Flow Masters sound great at low speed, but my buddy has some and they sound funky when you are following him down the freeway. Kind of high pitched and not that growl of the low speed.
I run Cherrybomb glass packs on mine and it sounds great at any speed

fenderwell headers and thrush glasspacks here. I trimmed down a set of 25" mufflers and added 90* elbows. unless you enjoy the AA fueler loudness, stay away from the fenderwell mufflers (had to wear earplugs with the hardtop on)

Mine were "small turbos" like I said on that page. Don't know anything more as they were provided by the muffler shop at the time (> 15 yrs ago).

My 225 still has a set of Walker Turbo's on it. Not too loud and last well.

thanks everyone for the info and clips!! it seems that the thing to run is turbos or glasspacks although warloch the supertrap method sounds interesting...i will proly go with the thrush welded mufflers and see were it takes me i will post pics and sound clips once its said and done...thanks again everyone!!!
